KNJIGA ŠT. o5 - 155. DEL (Skrižvni (Horkruci) - Horcruxes) (o3oo)

192 - Skrižvni (Horkruci) - Horcruxes

VOLDEMORT: I was in the library the other night ...

... in the Restricted Section ...

... and I read something rather odd about a bit of rare magic.

                      It's called, as I understand it ...

                      ... a Horcrux.

SLUGHORN: I beg your pardon?

VOLDEMORT: Horcrux.

I came across the term while reading ...

                      ... and I didn't fully understand it.

SLUGHORN: I'm not sure what you were reading, Tom ...

... but this is very dark stuff, very dark indeed.

VOLDEMORT: Which is ...

... why I came to you.

SLUGHORN: A Horcrux is an object in which a person has concealed part of their soul.

VOLDEMORT: But I don't understand how that works, sir.

SLUGHORN: One splits one's soul and hides part of it in an object.

By doing so, you're protected, should you be attacked and your body destroyed.

VOLDEMORT: Protected?

SLUGHORN: That part of your soul that is hidden lives on.

In other words, you cannot die.

VOLDEMORT: And how does one split his soul, sir?

SLUGHORN: I think you already know the answer to that, Tom.

VOLDEMORT: Murder.

SLUGHORN: Yes.

Killing rips the soul apart. It is a violation against nature.

VOLDEMORT: Can you only split the soul once? For instance, isn't seven ...?

SLUGHORN: Seven?

Merlin's beard, Tom. Isn't it bad enough to consider killing one person?

To rip the soul into seven pieces ...

This is all hypothetical, isn't it, Tom? All academic?

VOLDEMORT: Of course, sir.

                      It'll be our little secret.

POTTER: Sir.

DUMBLEDORE: This is beyond anything I imagined.

POTTER: You mean to say he succeeded, sir, in making a Horcrux?

DUMBLEDORE: Oh, yes, he succeeded, all right. And not just once.

POTTER: What are they exactly?

DUMBLEDORE: Could be anything. Most commonplace of objects.

                         A ring, for example.

                         Or a book.

POTTER: Tom Riddle's diary.

DUMBLEDORE: It's a Horcrux, yes.

Four years ago, when you saved Ginny's life ...

... in the Chamber of Secrets, you brought me this.

I knew this was a different kind of magic.

Very dark, very powerful. But until tonight I had no idea just how powerful.

POTTER: The ring?

DUMBLEDORE: Belonged to Voldemort's mother.

Difficult to find. Even more difficult to destroy.

POTTER: But if you could find them all, if you did destroy each Horcrux ...

DUMBLEDORE: One destroys Voldemort.

POTTER: But how would you find them? They could be hidden anywhere.

DUMBLEDORE: True. But magic, especially dark magic ...

                         ... leaves traces.

POTTER: It's where you've been going, isn't it, sir?

              When you leave the school?

DUMBLEDORE: Yes.

And I think perhaps I may have found another.

But this time, I cannot hope to destroy it alone.

Once again, I must ask too much of you, Harry.

I was in the library the other night ... (Zadnjič sem bil)
... in the Restricted Section ... (v prepovedanem oddelku knjižnice.)
... and I read something rather odd about a bit of rare magic. (Prebral sem nekaj čudnega o redki vrsti magije.)
It's called, as I understand it ... (Če sem prav razumel, govori)
... a Horcrux. (o skrižvnih.)
I beg your pardon? (Kako?)
Horcrux. (O skrižvnih.)
I came across the term while reading ... (Med branjem sem naletel na izraz.)
... and I didn't fully understand it. (Nisem ravno razumel.)
I'm not sure what you were reading, Tom ... (Ne vem, kaj si bral,)
... but this is very dark stuff, very dark indeed. (ampak to je hudo črna magija.)
Which is ... (Zato)
... why I came to you. (sem prišel k vam.)
A Horcrux is an object in which a person has concealed part of their soul. (Skrižven je predmet, kamor skriješ kos svoje duše.)
But I don't understand how that works, sir. (Ampak ne razumem, kako deluje.)
One splits one's soul and hides part of it in an object. (Razcepiš si dušo in kos skriješ v predmet.)
By doing so, you're protected, should you be attacked and your body destroyed. (Tako se zavaruješ,, če je tvoje telo uničeno.)
Protected? (Zavaruješ?)
That part of your soul that is hidden lives on. (Skriti del duše živi dalje.)
In other words, you cannot die. (Z drugimi besedami, ne moreš umreti.)
And how does one split his soul, sir? (In kako si razcepiš dušo?)
I think you already know the answer to that, Tom. (Mislim, da že poznaš odgovor na to, Mark.)
Murder. (Z umorom.)
Yes. (Da.)
Killing rips the soul apart. It is a violation against nature. (Ubijanje raztrga dušo, saj nasprotuje naravi.)
Can you only split the soul once? For instance, isn't seven ...? (Lahko dušo razcepiš samo enkrat? Bi sedem ...)
Seven? (Sedem?)
Merlin's beard, Tom. Isn't it bad enough to consider killing one person? (Pri Merlinovi bradi! Ni hudo ubiti že enega človeka?)
To rip the soul into seven pieces ... (Da pa bi dušo razcepil na sedem delov ...)
This is all hypothetical, isn't it, Tom? All academic? (Govoriva samo o domnevi, ne? Čisto akademsko?)
Of course, sir. (Seveda.)
It'll be our little secret. (To bo najina skrivnost.)
Sir.
This is beyond anything I imagined. (Nisem si predstavljal česa takšnega.)
You mean to say he succeeded, sir, in making a Horcrux? (Mu je uspelo narediti skrižvne?)
Oh, yes, he succeeded, all right. And not just once. (Pa še kako mu je uspelo. In ne samo enega.)
What are they exactly? (Kaj sploh so?)
Could be anything. Most commonplace of objects. (Kar koli, najobičajnejši predmeti.)
A ring, for example. (Recimo prstan.)
Or a book. (Ali pa knjiga.)
Tom Riddle's diary. (Dnevnik Marka Neelstina.)
It's a Horcrux, yes. (Ja, skrižven je.)
Four years ago, when you saved Ginny's life ... (Ko si pred štirimi leti rešil Ginny,)
... in the Chamber of Secrets, you brought me this. (si mi prinesel tole.)
I knew this was a different kind of magic. (Vedel sem, da gre za drugačno magijo,)
Very dark, very powerful. But until tonight I had no idea just how powerful. (Črno, močno. A do danes nisem vedel, kako močno.)
The ring? (Pa prstan?)
Belonged to Voldemort's mother. (Bil je last Mrlakensteinove matere.)
Difficult to find. Even more difficult to destroy. (Težko jih je najti in še težje uničiti.)
But if you could find them all, if you did destroy each Horcrux ... (Če pa bi uničil vse skrižvne ...)
One destroys Voldemort. (Bi uničil Mrlakensteina.)
But how would you find them? They could be hidden anywhere. (A kako jih najdeš? Kjer koli so lahko skriti.)
True. But magic, especially dark magic ... (Res je, toda magija, še posebej črna,)
... leaves traces. (pusti sledi.)
It's where you've been going, isn't it, sir? (To ste počeli,)
When you leave the school? (ko ste šli s šole, ne?)
Yes. (Da.)
And I think perhaps I may have found another. (Mislim, da sem našel še enega.)
But this time, I cannot hope to destroy it alone. (A tokrat ga ne morem uničiti sam.)
Once again, I must ask too much of you, Harry. (Še enkrat te moram prositi preveč.)
